Bicycle Discovery Day

Designed for youth to build confidence, skills, and independence on two wheels. Campers will learn essential bike safety, handling, and basic maintenance while enjoying fun group rides and games in a supportive environment.

  • connect at "base camp" to learn route planning, bike maintenance, to play games,  and etc. 
  • spend much of the day on their bikes riding local neighborhoods to fun destinations and trails.
  • need to bring a lunch, snack, and water.
  • need to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
  • need to bring a helmet and functioning bicycle with gears.
  • If you need assistance getting a helmet and/or bicycle, SMART can help you explore solutions.

Limited to 10 campers, ages 8-14.

*Riders must be able to ride a two wheel bicycle confidently, start and stop independently. Should be comfortable riding in a group and on low traffic streets.

2026 Dates, Time, & Location

Dates: Tuesday, June 23rd or Thursday, August 6th 

Time: 9am - 2pm

Base camp: Stein-Boozier Barn at Memorial Park 

Drop-off and pick-up times: Parents and guardians must be present for pick-up and drop off.  Available 30 minutes before/after camp.
