The hearings will take place at Wilsonville City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop East.  A complete copy of the project record, including staff report, findings, and recommendations, will be available online and at City Hall for viewing seven (7) days prior to each public hearing.

Summary of Proposal:

The City of Wilsonville is proposing an update the City’s code enforcement process and penalties. Currently, Wilsonville Code Chapter 1, particularly Sections 1.011 through 1.015, outlines the City’s code enforcement, which includes imposing violations and misdemeanors. This process has been in the current Wilsonville Code since 1984 without update. While many provisions in the Wilsonville Code refer back to Chapter 1 for enforcement, these other provisions often include additional requirements or processes or may wholly bypass Chapter 1 altogether. This decentralized approach can cause inefficiencies and confusion for the community and City officials. The proposed update will create a centralized administrative process for most violations of the Wilsonville Code and will expressly exempt the provisions of the Wilsonville Code that have their own processes for code enforcement. To complete this project, the City must make minor updates to Chapter 4, the City’s Development Code, to align with the new administrative process. Chapter 4 currently relies on Chapter 1 for enforcement processes, but needs to be updated to properly cite to Chapter 1 and ensure the appropriate City officials are empowered to undertake enforcement actions. No substantive changes to the City’s Development Code are proposed.
