PROFILES: Imagining Your Story

Calendar Date:

Wednesday, August 26, 2020 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

The late, great educator and writer Joseph Campbell once said, “Follow your bliss.”  He asked: “What is that thing inside of you that sparks you, that makes you feel fulfilled?”

This ongoing series of 60-minute presentations looks at the lives of writers, artists, and historical figures who tried to imagine--or re-imagine--their life stories. They asked of themselves that all-important question: What do I want to be when I grow up?  Sometimes the answer to that question remained elusive; sometimes it was clear from the very beginning; sometimes answers changed in mid-stream.  As we look at the lives of these various people, we’ll make connections to our own lives.

What is your bliss?  Come join us--and be inspired.

Presented by Dr. Bill Thierfelder, professor emeritus and docent at the American Museum of Natural History.
