When Midge heard about Ken buying the Hummer with Barbie’s credit card, she “rushed” out of the nail salon to confront Ken before the wedding. Her nails were still wet. When her wet red polish came in contact with the white tie, the paint was “absorbed” giving the illusion of pink paint transfer. Midge, secretly in love with Ken, stole the tie out of the Mattel CEO’s garment bag, strangled Bridal Barbie, and put it back to frame the CEO. Midge’s plan was to be the “replacement” wife and live happily ever after with her new man and the Malibu Dreamhome, which she would inherit after Bridal Barbie’s death.
