Things to Know as Election Day Nears

Wilsonville's Official Ballot Drop is located at City Hall

The 2020 general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3.  In Wilsonville, your local election authority depends upon where you reside.

The City of Wilsonville has one Official Ballot Drop Site, available to the public 24 hours a day from the day ballots are mailed (Oct. 14) until 8 p.m. on Election Day. This box is located at City Hall (29799 SW Town Center Loop E.).  To access the drive-thru Ballot Drop Site, enter the City Hall parking lot from Courtside Drive.

Several additional Ballot Drop Sites are located throughout Washington County (see list) and Clackamas County (see list).

Ballots may also be dropped by mail.  The U.S. Postal Service recommends "that domestic, non-military voters mail their completed ballots before Election Day and at least one week prior to your state’s deadline."

Voter Registration Deadline is Oct. 13

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election is Oct. 13.  To confirm that you are registered, update your registration, or check the status of your ballot, visit the State of Oregon's  MyVote website

New voters can register online with an Oregon driver's license, permit or ID card number issued by the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division (DMV).  If you do not have an Oregon driver's license, permit or ID card, use the online voter registration  to enter your information, which will display on a voter registration card (PDF document) that you will need to print, sign and deliver to your county elections office to complete your registration.

Candidate Signs Must Adhere to City Code

As the date approaches, many Wilsonville residents may wish to demonstrate support for their preferred candidates in local, State and Federal races.

While it may be tempting to put signs in your yard for every candidate you’re backing, we provide this friendly reminder of Wilsonville’s Sign Code: On private property,  City Code stipulates that no more than three temporary exterior signs may be posted.

Signs may be displayed for up to 60 days prior to Election Day, and must be removed upon the event’s conclusion.  This means that any signs posted before Sept 4 are in violation of the above regulations, and may be confiscated.

During election season, if you believe your sign has been unjustly confiscated or have additional questions, please contact Holt Cazel, Code Compliance Coordinator, 503-570-1603, cazel@ci.wilsonville.or.us.
