Garden Renovation

 As part of implementation of the recent Memorial Park Master Plan, the Community Garden underwent a renovation, completed Spring of 2016.  Previously, the garden was split into two sections and had a total of 99 in-ground plots and 15 raised beds.  While the east section had ample sunlight, many plots in the west section experienced a considerable amount of shade during the day.  In an effort to enhance growing conditions and increase the number of gardening opportunities for everyone, all garden plots were moved to the east side and additional in-ground and raised bed plots were added.  The new garden has a total of 134 9'x10' in-ground plots and 21 4'x8' raised beds.  The raised beds have varying heights of 30", 24" or 18" to accommodate ADA requirements for children and adults.
