The fourth meeting of the 21-member French Prairie Task Force is Wednesday, Dec. 5, at City Hall, 6-9 pm. This meeting is open to the public.
The task force is considering technical reports, public input, site constraints and environmental impacts, and is expected to recommend two preferred bridge types for further study.
In October, the project team hosted an open house to introduce five bridge types -- Steel Girder, Steel Truss, Tied Arch, Cable Stay, Suspension -- and distributed an online open house to gather input from residents and project stakeholders.
The French Prairie Bridge, a proposed bike/pedestrian/emergency vehicle bridge over the Willamette River, would connect the Portland-area Intertwine Trail Network and Ice Age Tonquin Trail with the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway and provide an alternative to I-5 for residents south of the river who commute to Wilsonville.
