Traffic Changes on SW Kinsman Road: Southbound Lane Closure Starts Sept. 7

Crews are continuing to take advantage of favorable weather conditions to install new water pipeline under SW Kinsman Road.  Soon, crews are moving past the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue station and proceeding north to SW Barber.

Starting on or about Sept. 7, the SW Kinsman Road detour is being modified to allow for northbound traffic only. This work is anticipated to last several months.   

Traffic Impacts:  

Southbound traffic on SW Kinsman Road at SW Barber Street is being detoured onto SW Boones Ferry Road. SMART bus stops in this area will be closed as necessary. 

  • Northbound traffic lane may proceed on SW Kinsman Road.
  • Bicycle traffic must use the automobile travel lane; there will not be a dedicated bike lane.
  • Pedestrians will be detoured to the east side of Kinsman Road as needed for safety.
  • Businesses will remain open.

Estimated time frame

  • September 7, 2023 – February 2024 

Temporary lane closures

  • Southbound lane on SW Kinsman Road at SW Barber Street with traffic detoured to SW Boones Ferry Road.
