Bee flying into flower

On Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 am to noon, the City is hosting a free class for anyone interested in participating in the Bee City USA and Bee Stewards programs.

This class, limited to 25 participants to ensure social distancing, is being held at the historic Stein-Boozier Barn, located in Murase Plaza, at Memorial Park. Registration is required to attend the event.

Participants will receive instructional tips on how to create a residential wildlife and pollinator garden, and can take home a free copy of the Bee Stewards Pollinator Toolkit. The session also includes a walking tour of the City’s wildlife and pollinator gardens. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather.

Precautions are being taken to reduce the risk of COVID-19, keeping the barn door partially open, a requirement that participants wear face coverings and a seating arrangement that ensures adequate distancing.

For more information and to register for the class, contact Leslie Campbell, Habitat Design PDX, at Leslie@habitatdesignpdx.com. Class resources are available at https://www.habitatdesignpdx.com/resources.
