Applicants Sought for Six City Boards
March 25, 2026 — The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants who are interested in serving on one of the many volunteer Boards and Commissions that provide guidance and oversight of City programs.
The City Council seeks to immediately fill one vacant seat on the Budget Committee before May meetings to consider the City’s 2026-27 fiscal year Budget. Applications may be submitted online from now until the March 31 deadline.
Throughout April, the City is accepting applications for vacant seats on five City boards for terms that begin on July 1. While active recruitment begins in April for the positions listed below, interested candidates may apply now for future consideration.
Positions to be filled include:
- Three seats on the Arts, Culture & Heritage Commission
- One seat on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
- Two seats on the Library Board
- Four seats on the Tourism Promotion Committee
- Two seats on the Wilsonville-Metro Community Enhancement Committee
Members of City boards provide oversight and ideas to support City programs and make policy recommendations to the City Council as needed. Board service typically consists of one evening meeting per month.
Qualified applicants are to be interviewed by Mayor Shawn O’Neil, who makes appointment recommendations to City Council that must then be approved by a majority vote.
Diversity on City Boards and Commissions is critical to ensure that City policies and programs serve people of every race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion and ability. Residents of all races, genders, ages and nationalities are encouraged to apply by April 30.
