Americans with Disability Act Day
On July 26th, we celebrate Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Day, commemorating the landmark civil rights law signed in 1990. The ADA prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places open to the general public.
ADA Day is a time to reflect on the progress made in promoting accessibility, equality, and inclusion. It's also a reminder of the ongoing efforts needed to continue fighting for the equity and inclusion of those with disabilities.
